Federal Minister for Commerce Meeting with Governor Sindh

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori stated that the imposition of additional tariffs by the United States on India and Bangladesh has created new trade opportunities for Pakistan, which require immediate and effective measures to be fully utilized. He emphasized that along with textiles, investment in IT and other sectors must also be promoted to strengthen the national economy. He expressed these views during a meeting with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan at the Governor House Karachi.

The meeting was also attended by State Life Chief Executive Officer Shoaib Javed Hussain, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Officer Faiza Ahmed, National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) Chief Executive Officer Farman Zarkoon, and TDAP Secretary Shehryar Taj.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on promoting trade activities at both federal and provincial levels, increasing exports, and exploring new investment opportunities. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori expressed his commitment to taking the business community into confidence regarding trade opportunities in Central Asian countries and further enhancing trade between Pakistan and Central Asia.

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori said that linkages between Pakistani and Central Asian traders would be further strengthened, and that the Governor House, in collaboration with TDAP, would ensure the organization of B2B and G2B meetings between Asian and Pakistani traders.

On the occasion, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori remarked that Karachi is the economic lifeline of Pakistan and that its development directly contributes to the country’s overall progress. He appreciated federal cooperation for the city’s economic growth.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan stated that Karachi plays a pivotal role in national economic development and that the federal government would continue to extend full support for the promotion of the city’s economic activities.

Later, the Federal Minister for Commerce, along with Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, visited the historic office of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and planted a sapling under the ongoing tree plantation campaign at the Governor House.
