The project envisages construction of two exhibition halls each having 45,000 sq.ft floor area along with a convention centre and allied facilities having covered area of about 200,000 sq.ft over 200 kanal of land in Phase-I. Main objective of the project is provide international standard infrastructure for the promotion of economic activities through trade exhibitions, consumer fairs and conferences, which will give boost to both domestic commerce and international trade. Phase-I and Phase-II will need 400 kanals of land. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has provided 200 kanals (25 acres) of land for Phase-I of the project on lease for a period of 40 years extendable. The Provincial Govt. will provide further 25 acres of land for Phase-II adjacent to Phase-I land. The lease money for this land will be reflected as equity of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the books of M/s Pakistan Expo Centres Pvt. Ltd. Lahore, a Joint Stock Company of the Federal Govt. (M/o Commerce) and respective Provincial Governments. Mandate of the company is to develop and manage Expo Centres in major cities of Pakistan with the objective to promote various sectors of economy through trade exhibitions, consumer fairs and conferences.
