9th session of Pak-Iran Joint Trade Committee (JTC)

Tehran, 6th-7th Novermber, 2021: The 9th session of Pak-Iran Joint Trade Committee (JTC) was held on 6th-7th November, 2021 at Tehran. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment and Mr. Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

Two sides resolved to translate the decisions of the 9th JTC into positive and tangible results by removing non-tariff barriers to trade. It was also desired by the two sides to take all necessary measure to achieve the target of bilateral trade of US$ 5 billion as envisioned in the Five Year Strategic Trade Cooperation Plan of 2016. It was resolved to work in the fields of connectivity, barter trade, border sustenance marketplaces and early finalization of FTA to give impetus to bilateral trade.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Iranian International Exhibition Company was signed for cooperation in international exhibitions. Another MoU on Barter Trade Mechanism between Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Zahidan Chamber of Commerce and Industries was signed. In the end , the two sides signed the Minutes of the 9th Session of JTC.
